ABOUT

We take talented, creative people and challenge them to make ownership an amazing experience.

Leadership

Lots of companies have “values”. Not many express ‘em. Tweddle’s leadership lives and breathes the values of their company—along with 800 other Tweddle employees worldwide.

Brian Suszek

Chief Executive Officer

I’ve been here for almost 25 years and no one’s ever told me “that’s not your job”. That equals a tremendous amount of freedom. We’re free to make our mark in ways that aren’t constrained by a job description. And the complexity of all of the things we do means no two days are alike. I love it.

Pat McGinnis

Chief Business Development Officer

No two customers are exactly the same. Each new client deserves a fresh approach and fresh ideas. We can design tailored solutions and we can do it quickly. Our customers are everything to us. We bring an enormous amount of energy to every client we work with.

Tina Stuart

Chief Operating Officer

Our people are our greatest strength. I’m continually grateful for their broad range of expertise and experience. Each day, someone takes customer focus to the next level or finds an amazing way to improve a process. From the content we create to the finished goods we deliver, I’m proud of the work we do at Tweddle Group.

Our employees. Our environment. Our responsibility.

As a company and as individuals we strive to have a positive impact on the world around us. To support this goal, Tweddle Group maintains a strict code of business ethics, and follows clear policies relating to health and safety, our client relationships and ecology.

History

Tweddle Group is Owner’s Information. We can bundle an entire digital experience—the app, the touchscreen, the online in an intelligent way, along with a user guide and serve it to customers with contextual awareness. We make Owner’s Information a vital part of the customer’s daily life.

Tweddle Group creates understanding. We stand atop a massive storehouse of technical data, compiled over decades of service to our clients and our clients’ customers.

Tweddle Group combines daredevil spirit with a prophet’s foresight. The result has been one smash hit after another, kind of like Steve Miller Band in the 70s, except we’re a company and also better-looking.

What does Tweddle do? Well, we do lots of things. But our reason for being is simple: Our clients build excellent products, and we make their customers love those products even more.

"We're glad to be part of Detroit's technology revolution, there's a critical mass forming around tech in Detroit right now. This move puts us close to our technology partners and the region's best innovators. Detroit is a great city with an amazing culture. We want to participate in its future."
- Ty Beltramo, CTO

1997-2010

Global expansion

Tweddle Group opens first international offices in China, Italy and Belgium.

Tweddle Group launches first Owner's Information mobile app

Another first-to-market, this time Jeep Grand Cherokee. This app stands as the first mobile application in North America dedicated to new vehicle technology.

1997

Tweddle expands into technical authoring

With the establishment of new technical authoring departments, Tweddle Group became the only company in the world that could turn raw engineering data into complete Owner’s Information kits. To this day, no other company can match that same, full scope of service.

1970s

Tweddle pilots database management system

Prior to the arrival of database management systems, the auto industry was painfully limited in terms of how often they could create new parts price lists. Database management revolutionized this side of the industry, which boomed as price lists could be updated with greater and greater frequency. Profits increased dramatically thanks to Tweddle’s shrewd, forward-thinking gamble.

1960

Tweddle pilots computerized lithography

It really seemed crazy at the time. Under President Margaret Tweddle, the company replaced hot lead typography—a 19th century technology—with computerized phototypesetting. Why replace a fortune in equipment with something as weird and untested as a bunch of computers? Well, because tomorrow always looks unlikely when seen from the wrong vantage point. This innovation set the stage for Tweddle’s next major breakthrough: database publishing.

1954

Edmund Tweddle establishes Tweddle Litho Company

Edmund opened up shop in Detroit’s eastern suburbs to produce owner manuals for the booming car industry. It’s amazing where some guts, foresight and good sense can take you.
